Good Work Austin Culinary Workforce Training
Good Work Austin's Culinary Workforce Training Program is designed to empower individuals facing employment barriers by providing a paid opportunity to acquire essential skills for success in the restaurant industry.

The application for the Fall 2025 Culinary Workforce Training Program is now OPEN! Applications are due August 1, 2025. Spots are limited so we encourage you to apply early.
Why Apply?
Hands-on Training: Gain practical skills in knife handling, food prep, cooking techniques, and more!
Get paid while you learn: Not only is the program free, but trainees receive a stipend while participating.
Open to all: We welcome anyone between 18-65 years old with a passion for food.
Everything’s on us: We’ll provide lunch for all participants.

Hands On Programming
Trainees learn essential culinary techniques and skills to become successful in the restaurant industry.
Trainees also gain hands-on experience through restaurant tours, onsite stages (internships), and weekly guest chef demonstrations led by some of Austin’s top culinary talent.

Career Pathways and Benefits
Trainees will participate in resume-building and job search skills development, including exclusive opportunities such as mock interviews with Good Work Austin-affiliated businesses. Upon completing the program, trainees receive personalized employment support to help them secure jobs with GWA member businesses

Skill Building
This program is delivered through a 9-week comprehensive and professional curriculum. Trainees will receive a Food Handler Certificate, (DEI) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and harassment prevention training. This commitment ensures a safe and inclusive work environment for all trainees and employees.
